In 2291, Lieutenant J.G. Carolyn Adiwoso was assigned to the Bondarenko as assistant chief science officer after her graduation from the Starfleet Academy Command School. The Bondarenko surveyed the Epsilon Balthasar system until late in that year. (Star Trek: Shadowstar Station: "Heritage")

The Bondarenko surveyed the Zeta Pi Varanasi cluster in 2292. En route to Varanasi, the Bondarenko stopped at Seaforth Station.

Her commanding officer during this three-year mission (ending in 2293) was Patricia Rivera.

Nomenclature[]

The Bondarenko was named after Valentin Bondarenko (1937-1961), a Soviet cosmonaut of Ukrainian descent, who was killed in a training accident. The incident was not revealed internationally until the 1980s.
