The USS Boston (NCC-425) was a Syracuse-class destroyer in Starfleet service during the 23rd century. The first block of Syracuses were named after Earth cities that had resisted assaults and sieges. The second block were named after Earth gods and demigods.
Boston and two of her sister ships, USS Drona and USS Rahman, were converted to destroyer leaders (of the Boston subclass) in 2231 and redesignated as Einstein subclass observation ships in 2234. All three vessels underwent a refit in 2263, and were decommissioned by 2282.
