USS Buran (NCC-08) was a Columbia-class explorer in Federation Starfleet service during the 22nd century. Buran was the first of the new-build Columbias after the retrofit of Enterprise in 2156 and Endeavour. (Rise of the Federation novel Live by the Code)

Nomenclature[]
The ship was named after Buran, the Soviet/Russian spaceplane program of the late 20th century, and the first vessel of the program. Buran is "snowstorm" or "blizzard" in Russian.
