USS Christa McAuliffe (24th century)

USS Christa McAuliffe was a Federation Starfleet science vessel, of unrevealed class, in service during the 24th century. (Star Trek: Avenger)

In the 2300s, she was commanded by Captain Krysta. Yaxara Elbrun served aboard the Christa McAuliffe for three years as chief science officer, then executive officer. While Captain Krysta recovered from wounds sustained during a research mission, Elbrun was acting commanding officer. (Star Trek: Avenger)

Nomenclature

The ship was the namesake of American civilian astronaut Christa McAullife (1948-1986), who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.
