USS Collins was a Soyuz-class survey frigate on active duty in Starfleet in the 2260s. (Star Trek: The Original Series comic Spock: Reflections 3)
Admiral Patricia Carlson was the Collins's commanding officer in 2265.
Hobbyist's Guide to the UFP Starfleet[]
The Collins's registry was not revealed in the comics story. The Hobbyist's Guide gave it NCC-1839. As well, in this continuity, Collins had been converted from a Miranda-class heavy frigate in 2260. (Hobbyist's Guide to the UFP Starfleet, Part 1b)
Nomenclature[]
It was not revealed after whom the ship was named. It could be either of the American astronauts Michael Collins or Eileen Collins, both, or another person entirely.
