USS Deneb (NCC-1826) was a Constitution-class heavy cruiser — part of the Tikopai-subclass — in service during the late 23rd century. (Star Fleet Technical Manual, Ships of the Star Fleet)
Nomenclature[]
The ship is named after Deneb, also known as Alpha Cygni, a blue supergiant star about 2,600 light-years from Earth. The system has many planets, at least four of which (Deneb II, Deneb IV, Deneb V, and Deneb XX) were habitable. The star is often confused with Deneb Kaitos.
