The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-G (formerly the USS Titan (NCC-80102-A)) was a Constitution III-class Federation starship in service during the late 24th century and early 25th century. She was the eighth Federation vessel to bear the name. Her first commanding officer after taking on the Enterprise name was Captain Seven of Nine. (PIC: "The Last Generation")
One of the leading factors in the renaming of the Titan-A as the Enterprise-G was a letter sent to the Federation News Service by Christopher Pike Medal of Valor recipient Zenon Kar, in which Kar cited the precedent of renaming ships that were already commissioned under other names (the USS Yorktown as the USS Enterprise-A and the USS Honorius as the USS Enterprise-E in particular) as ships of the Enterprise lineage.
