USS Helios (NCC-1825)

The USS Helios (NCC-1825) was a Federation Constitution-class heavy cruiser — part of the Tikopai-subclass — in service to Starfleet during the late 23rd century. (Star Fleet Technical Manual, Ships of the Star Fleet)

The Helios was authorized for construction by the Starfleet appropriation on stardate 5930 (late 2260s). (Star Fleet Technical Manual)

Construction finally began at Cosmadyne Corporation at the Boston Shipyards, Earth in 2278 when her hull was laid down on September 1. She was built over the next fourteen months and was launched on November 30 2279 for shakedown cruises. Following the conclusion of the shakedown, the Helios was officially commissioned on March 4 2280. (Ships of the Star Fleet)

In 2290, the Helios was still on active service and was assigned to a patrol of subquadrant 3, north. (Ships of the Star Fleet)
