Fan organizations[]
The Jamestown has been a chapter of Starfleet International, based in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area, since September, 1982, though the fictional metaphor has changed several times. Jamestown began under the command of then-Captain Stephen C. Thomas in September, 1982. She has had at least three commanding officers: Vice Admiral Stephen Thomas, Vice Admiral Richard Hewitt and Rear Admiral John Winsley. Sadly, the Jamestown, the oldest chapter in Virginia, was decommissioned on September 24, 2016.
