USS Liberty (NCC-1076)

USS Liberty was a Miranda-class light cruiser on active duty in Starfleet during at least the 2290s. (Star Trek: Liberty)

Luciano Mantovanni was first posted to Liberty in 2296 as chief of security, then quickly promoted to executive officer. Two years later, as Liberty's commanding officer with the rank of commander, Mantovanni engaged several Romulan vessels near Galorndon Core.

Liberty was badly damaged and had to be scuttled as a result.
