USS Liberty (NCC-1776)

The USS Liberty (NCC-1776) was a Sovereign-class Federation starship in service during the late 24th century. Under the command of Captain Luciano Mantovanni, she was the third Sovereign-class vessel to be commissioned, and the sixth Federation ship to bear the name. During the Dominion War, Liberty was stranded behind enemy lines as part of the fabled Thirteenth Fleet. (Star Trek: Liberty)

Liberty was launched from Hephaestus Fleet Yards, Vulcanis sector in 2373 on stardate 50710.4. Her ship's motto was a quote from Daniel Webster: God grants Liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it.
