USS Liberty (NCC-687) was a Saladin-class starship on active duty in Starfleet during the 23rd century. The vessel had a crew compliment of 182.
In 2289, the Liberty was under the command of Captain Richard Sheridan, and her first officer was Lt. Commander Samuel Kyle. Assigned to survey the Pinchot Expanse, the Liberty went missing ten days out of Construction Project 87529, and Starfleet eventually listed the ship as lost with all hands. Seventy-six years later, in 2365, her fate was discovered by the crew of the USS Chimera. (Star Trek: Outpost: "As Time Goes By")
