The USS Matsurra (NCC-2512) was a Belknap-class strike cruiser on active duty in Star Fleet during the late 23rd century. Commisioned on 16 October 2281, after being laid down at the Cosmadyne Corporation facility at the Boston Shipyards on Earth on 17 December 2279, and launched on 1 January 2281.
Unlike the USS Raan and the USS Sur Cha, which were also assigned to TacFleet, the Matsurra was not fitted with LN-68 warp units, but retained the standard LN-64 units.
Home ported at Starbase 2, the Matsurra was on operational stand down until mid June 2289. After conducting tactical excercises with other Class One units during July and August, the Matsurra operated under classified status from 27 August until mid November, before participating in joint TacFleet/Star Fleet excercises with the strike cruiser USS Seneca in December.(Ships of the Star Fleet, vol. 1 [revised])
