The USS Miyazaki (NCC-50445) is a United Federation of Planets Starfleet starship in service from the latter half of the 24th century.
Service in Operation Return and the Dominion War
The Miyazaki saw duty in Operation Return, the mid-2374 offensive to recapture Deep Space 9 from the Dominion. During the battle, the Miyazaki's captain was killed. Then-First Officer Alejandro Mendez took command and saw the Miyazaki through the remainder of the battle.
In the aftermath of the battle, Mendez was promoted to Captain and the Miyazaki placed under his command. Under Mendez' command, the Miyazaki saw action in many of the remaining battles of the war, such as the final Battle of Cardassia. (Harry Potter and the Return of James T. Kirk research materials)
Post-Dominion War
After the Dominion War, the Miyazaki often was assigned to diplomatic escort duty, such as escorting Federation ambassadors to the ceremony to admit Hogwarts into the United Federation of Planets.
Captain Mendez offered to escort newly-minted Ambassador Harold James "Harry" Potter, his new wife Ginny and ambassadorial support party to Earth aboard the Miyazaki. But Potter decided that while Mendez' offer was generous, he wanted to go to Earth aboard the reinstated USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-A). (Harry Potter and the Return of James T.
