The USS Phoenix (NCC-65420) was a Nebula-class Federation starship, commissioned in 2363. By 2367, it was under the command of Captain Benjamin Maxwell. (Star Trek: The Next Generation)
History[]
In 2367, Maxwell turned vigilante with the Phoenix, destroying several Cardassian outposts and ships in belief of a conspiracy by the enemy. Thanks to the USS Enterprise-D, he was convinced to stand down. (TNG: "The Wounded")
Star Trek: Phoenix-X[]
In 2367, before Maxwell's divergence, the Phoenix was partially set up with testbed transwarp components. However, the damage incurred from Maxwell's conflict later prompted component transfer to a series of parallel Phoenix-named ships which were tested and near-destroyed over the next few years. ("Secret Occurrences")
Over the years, several officers took on-and-off again commands of the Phoenix. ("The Link's Traitor") In 2370, Daniel docked the Phoenix at Earth Spacedock. ("The Recruited") In 2372, Terry battled Klingons in the Second Federation-Klingon War to near-wreckage. ("New Beginnings") In 2373, half the crew partook in the exchange officer program with the IKS Bochnah. ("Betrayal and Honour") In 2374, the Phoenix was near-destroyed from the Tiloniam system supernova before the crew was transferred to the previously on-hold, transwarp-successful, parallel USS Phoenix-X, and a new crew assigned back to the Phoenix. ("The Tiloniam System") In 2381, the Phoenix temporarily incurred adverse refits under Malone before being handed back over to Terry. ("New Beginnings") In 2393, the Phoenix was patched up and relaunched at the Beta Antares Ship Yards. ("Triple Phoenix")
Destiny timeline[]
