The USS Resolution (NCC-1877) was an Avenger-class heavy frigate active during the 23rd century. (Ships of the Star Fleet)
Resolution was initially built as a Detroyat-class heavy destroyer in the 2220s. In the 2240s, it became an engineering testbed for what would become the Surya-class frigates and given the new registry NCC-1877, then -- nearly 25 years later -- spearheaded a linear-coil warp drive upgrade for heavy frigates and redesignated to be part of the Avenger class. In 2380, a ship with this registry -- though with the name Macduff -- was stored in a Cardassian detention center in one of Beckett Mariner's holodeck programs. (LD: "Strange Energies")
