USS Rhode Island (NCC-72701) was a modified Nova-class pocket destroyer on active duty in Starfleet during at least the early 25th century. (VOY: "Endgame")
- The designation "pocket destroyer" is a speculative one, based on the Nova-class blueprints/deck plans by Strategic Design, which affirms that this was the original raison d'etre of the class before the designation switched to "light research cruiser."
