USS/RSE Shadow Hawk NCC-74207/IFS-69601 is a Defiant-class/Battle Bay-class fighter carrier. She was the first vessel after the signing of the Federation/Romulan Alliance to have a joint Federation/Romulan crew. She is made up of a modified Defiant-class escort mounted on top of a Romulan produced Battle Bay. Together the vessel is a fighter carrier with the Defiant component acting as a bridge. Both vessels can separate and operate independently.

The ship's motto, as Captain Kirk commented sounds Romulan, "Every Star is a Stepping Stone". (D'Sefet's Cat House, the logs of Federation Installation Nine)

History

Construction

The partly completed hull of the Defiant class component of the Shadow Hawk was flown to the top-secret Southern Cross Fleet Yards on Pluto-Charon, Sol Sector for modification. After completion, Fleet Admiral T'Sarine a [[Vulcan/Romulan female that graduated from Starfleet Academy assumed command and took the vessel to Romulus to be joined with the Romulan built Battle Bay.

Service

On her many missions, the Shadow Hawk has spearheaded the mission to relieve Star Base 7 after the Borg attack on it, traveled back in time to 'tame' Section 31 and fought in the Dominion War.

Some time around 2381 or 2382, the Remmick Parasitic Beings tried to again invade the Federation. the Shadow Hawk traveled to Federation Installation Nine to assist in the fight against them. D'Sefet's Cat House, the logs of Federation Installation Nine. "Cloakdagger" - Episode 20 - The BUGS are back and FI-9 has them!!

Support craft

Because of the modifications, the Federation component of the Shadow Hawk has no Hanger Bay. It only has the standard Life Boats. The Romulan Battle Bay component has the usual complement of various shuttle craft and two wings of fighters. One wing made up of a Federation design and the other made up of the Romulan Predator-class, model III. All officers assigned to the Shadow Hawk regardless of their duties are required to qualify as pilot in either or both of the fighter classes.
