The USS Sioux (NCC-52882) was a Cheyenne-class exploration cruiser active in the mid-24th century, the 17th ship of her class constructed. She was launched 09 October 2344, and commissioned 07 December 2344.
Sioux was assigned to the Alpha Quadrant exploration zone. She was damaged during an encounter with the Breen at Atatex III in 2372, then underwent early Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) at Starbase 74. (USS Cheyenne Operations Manual)
