USS Soyuz (NCC-1840) was the lead ship and prototype of the Soyuz-class tactical frigates. It was active in Starfleet through at least 2292.

NCC-1840 was derived from Alex Rosenzweig's NCC registries listings. Jackill's Starfleet Reference Manual: Ships of the Fleet, vol. 1, 2006 revision, had the registry as NCC-1942. Orion Press has its registry as NCC-1930. Trekmania has the registry as NCC-1921.

An incident aboard Soyuz, then commanded by Captain Benjamin Swofford-Montgomery, was tied to Ensign Hayden Pope. (Star Trek: Avenger: "Belonging")

Nomenclature[]

The class, as well as the lead ship and prototype, were named after a series of spacecraft launched by the Soviet Union and Russia in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Hobbyist's Guide to the UFP Starfleet[]

In this continuity, Soyuz was converted from a Coventry-class frigate of the same name, but a registry of NCC-1239, in 2259. (Hobbyist's Guide to the UFP Starfleet, Part 1b)
