The USS Tecumseh (NCC-14934) was an Excelsior-class Starfleet starship in service during the mid- to late-24th century. Captain Raymond was commanding officer during the early 2370s.
The Tecumseh fought in both the Federation-Cardassian War and Second Federation-Klingon War. In the latter conflict in 2373, the ship and the USS Rutledge led a counterattack against the Klingons into the Arachnis sector. The ship's science officer was Dr. Kalandra's husband. During the Dominion War, many Tecumseh crewmembers appeared on the casualties lists at Deep Space 9 in 2374 and 2375. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight", "Image in the Sand") The Tecumseh was a part of the Starfleet Fifth Fleet's 10th Wing. (USS Baldwin)
At some point the Tecumseh was a part of Task Group 5-2. (Starfleet Command (RPG))
- In the Pendragon timeline, the Tecumseh was aligned with Admiral James Leyton's forces, defending Earth against Operation Return during the Federation Civil War.
Nomenclature[]
The ship was named after Tecumseh (1768-1813), a member of the Shawnee indigenous ethnic group in North America during Earth's 18th and 19th centuries. He was a chief, warrior, diplomat and orator who promoted resistance to the expansion of the United States onto Native American lands.
