USS Tecumseh (NCC-1893)

USS Tecumseh (NCC-1893) was a Cyane-class heavy frigate on active duty in Starfleet during the late 23rd century. She was commissioned in December, 2288. (Ships of the Star Fleet)

In the mid-2290s, Alan Kaplan was the Tecumseh's chief engineer. Aurora Parker-MacKenzie was a medical officer assigned to the ship from 2301 to 2304. (Star Trek: Avenger)

Nomenclature

The ship was named after Tecumseh (1768-1813), a member of the Shawnee indigenous ethnic group in North America during Earth's 18th and 19th centuries. He was a chief, warrior, diplomat and orator who promoted resistance to the expansion of the United States onto Native American lands.
