Star Trek Expanded Universe

USS Tereshkova (NCC-637) was a Gagarin-class science scout active in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries.

Orion Press has the Tereshkova as an Oberth-class vessel and her registry as NCC-646.

In 2284, Tereshkova -- commanded by Captain Corinne Morgenthau -- and the hospital ship USS John Mandeville --commanded by Captain Carolyn Ilund -- assisted a Trill vessel with a medical emergency. Lieutenant Commander Sabrina Moyet was the XO of Tereshkova at this time. (Star Trek: Shadowstar Station: "Merciful")

While on a mission to deliver classified cargo in 2285, Tereshkova discovered an abandoned Romulan science station close to the Federation side of the Neutral Zone. A boarding party found a device and ancient documents purporting that the Romulans' cloaking device (known to the Federation for about 20 years) had originally been discovered in a "stasis box" created by the billion-years-gone Slaver Empire (Star Trek: Shadowstar Station: "Provenances", Operation Blackjack).

In 2286, Tereshkova discovered a lost Earth colony on Califia Prime in the Triangle (Star Trek: Shadowstar Station: "Center of Attention"). Later that year, Morgenthau transferred to Starbase 41 to become its chief science officer.

From 2286 to 2291, Lieutenant Junior Grade Victoria Paris was a security officer and tactical officer on Tereshkova. ("Center of Attention")

T'Siena, a Vulcan xenobiologist, was assigned to Tereshkova from 2300 to 2302, then transferred to the USS Avenger. (Star Trek: Avenger: "The Circle")

Embarked vessels[]

In the 2280s, Tereshkova had at least one shuttlecraft, the Anh-Thu Nguyen (NCC-637/01). ("Provenances")

Nomenclature[]

Tereshkova was named for the first Terran woman in space, Valentina Tereshkova.
