USS Valkyr (NCC-442) was the lead ship and prototype of the Valkyr-class medium carriers of the early 23rd century.

In 2275, Valkyr was one of the Federation starships that greeted the USS Enterprise upon her return to Sector 001 following a test of the inversion drive. (Star Trek: The Original Series novel: The Wounded Sky)
