The USS Venture (NCC-2011) was an Excelsior-class starship launched in 2292. She was the second Starfleet vessel to bear the name. She was assigned to the Frontier Fleet along the Romulan Neutral Zone for many years. The Venture was decommissioned in 2355, having spent the last portion of her service under the command of Captain Owen Paris. (USS Venture Sourcebook)
