USS Vortex is a Star Trek play-by-IRC simulation that is part of the United Confederation of Interstellar Planets (UCIP) simming organization.

It was launched in the late 1990's shortly after the forming of the UCIP.

History

Several vessels carried the name of the USS Vortex. The most notable was the USS Vortex C.

Current status

After the destruction of the USS Vortex D, The name USS Vortex was decommissioned and the remaining crew assigned to Star Base Versailles.
