Star Trek Expanded Universe

USS Yeager (NCC-1893) was an Cyane-class heavy frigate in Starfleet service. During its operational lifetime, it was deployed to the Starfleet First Fleet under Captain Conner.

Nomenclature[]

The ship was named after Chuck Yeager (1923-2020), an American test pilot who was the first person to break the speed of sound, as well as various namesake starships.

Fan organizations[]

USS Yeager has also been a chapter of Starfleet International, based in Bluefield, West Virginia, since 1986.

The chapter's original metaphor was that of a Cyane-class heavy frigate. In 1993, the chapter president was Jerry Conner. (Communiqué 54) The fictional metaphor was later changed to that of a Nebula-class cruiser, with the registry of NCC-61893.
