Ursan

Commander Ursan, also known as Ursan the Bear, was an officer in the Orion Syndicate in the early 25^th Century. In 2407, he commanded the Orion-operated bird-of-prey OSS Cluros during its final mission to the Dragon's Head Nebula. (Star Trek Online: Valkyries)

History

Origins

Ursan had been working for the Orion Syndicate for some time before 2407, and had been affiliated with and under the influence of Atria D'blae since at least 2405, who acted as his handler for the Syndicate.

On Yamatai

In late May of 2407, Ursan was commanding the OSS Cluros, a light scout and raider, on a mission to investigate the presence of the USS Nautilus in the area of the Dragon's Head Nebula. While Ursan was ostensibly in command, most of the decisions made aboard the ship were actually made by Atria at this point. He merely went along with her suggestions.

Ursan was injured when the Cluros crashed on the planet Yamatai inside the nebula. He was dragged unconscious from the wreckage by Atria and treated by Doctor Howard of the Nautilus. He thereafter showed slightly more independence from Atria, displaying a greater willingness to work with the Starfleet crash survivors to overcome the Solarii cultists and escape the planet. He and Atria were ultimately the only survivors of the Cluros to be rescued from the planet by the Nautilus.

Afterward

Ursan spent nearly a month as a prisoner of war in the Nautilus's brig, until he and Atria were allowed to escape by Lieutenant Samantha Hayashi in gratitude for their help on Yamatai. He and Atria stowed away on a shuttle headed for the neutral Xarantine System.
