Lieutenant Varigold Illario (known to many as 'Vaggie') was a Starfleet officer in the mid 24th Century. (The Unreliable's Light)
Early Life[]
Varigold was born in 2333.
She entered Starfleet Academy at the age of 16, graduating at the age of 20. During her time at the academy when she took the Kobayashi Maru test, she had a brutal accident where she lost her right eye. This caused her to gain the eyepatch she wears from here on forward. She also met Alex Brine, to which they became good friends.
Career[]
Upon graduation, she was assigned to the USS Stargazer. A notable moment she mentions is that to not bother Jean-Luc Picard until he's had his Earl Grey.
In 2355, she was amongst the Stargazer crew upon it's arrival at Altamid. ("Old Freedom")
She later transferred to the USS Whistler, where she served as chief engineer until her death.
Death[]
In 2359, the USS Whistler had suffered damage to the Warp Core and it was about to breach, Vaggie couldn't eject it normally and used a manual override. It was ejected, but she had suffocated on the leaking coolant gas, leading to her death.
Life After Death[]
After death, Vaggie found herself being sent to Underworld despite her heroic sacrifice "Because Heaven is a massive bag of dicks" herself living from place to place for 21 years until 2380, when a team from the Unreliable showed up, to which she initially reacted with hostility to Breezie McKormic before recognising Alex.
She was on Tyson when it chased down one of Valentino's limousines and also joined a team that broke into the Vee Tower.
After the break in, she fixed the imbalance which turned out to be a simple dilithium misalignment that caused the whole thing including the temporal displacement. She promptly left after the Vees were fully defeated, returning to her former life as according to her "Someone’s got to fight the good fight down here.". ("DownVall")
