Vindi surprised her friends and family when she chose to pursue [[medicine]] in [[Starfleet]]. Her brother, Thirisar, had joined Starfleet several years previous and had gone into security. She would eventually come to serve on the ''Grissom'' where she was well liked and respected. Vindi did not have any problems with handling the by the book gruffness of [[Captain]] [[J.T. Esteban]], with whom she was involved in a relationship, known only to a select few (''[[Star Trek: Grissom]]''). Vindi's dog [[Muggle]] a black pomeranian canine, was a gift from Esteban.
