William Thomas Riker was a Human male who served in Starfleet during the 24th century. He served as first officer of the USS Enterprise-D and USS Enterprise-E, under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, between 2364 and 2379. In in late 2379, he was promoted to captain and assigned command of the Luna-class explorer, USS Titan. (TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint"; Star Trek Nemesis)
Summary[]
At the same time as he took command of the Titan, Riker married his long-term lover Deanna Troi. She also joined the Titan as the ship's counselor and diplomatic officer. (Star Trek Nemesis; Star Trek: Titan: Taking Wing)
During the first year of Riker's command, Titan helped rescue the USS Cerritos, who was under attack by the Pakleds. (LD: "No Small Parts")
At some point, Riker and Troi retired from Starfleet and lived on the planet Nepenthe, which was close to Kzinti space. (PIC: "Nepenthe") In 2399, Riker came out of retirement to command the USS Zheng He, and a fleet of Starfleet vessels, to protect the synthetic humanoids on the planet Coppelius. (PIC: "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2")
Pocket Books novels continuity[]
In 2385, Riker was cunningly promoted to admiral and tasked to investigate a fraught state of affairs within Starfleet after the death of Nanietta Bacco. (Star Trek: Titan: The Poisoned Chalice)
