Yaxara Elbrun

Yaxara Elbrun was a Starfleet science and line officer on active duty in the early 24th century. (Star Trek: Avenger)

In December of 2311, then-Commander Elbrun succeeded Captain Aurora Parker-MacKenzie as chief science officer of the USS Avenger (NCC-1860). During the Avenger's mission to the fourth planet of FGC-8712 in December, 2313, she commanded a landing party to explore a facility in what seemed to be a military-style bunker. When the ship moved out to FGC-8712-VI, she participated in a landing party to that planet's surface, as well. (Star Trek: Avenger: "The Beacon") In September, 2314, Elbrun participated in the analysis of the subspace wave phenomenon that endangered the Farseer 7 station. Elbrun was promoted to captain and served as commanding officer of Avenger from 2316 to 2321. She was the first CO of the Narendra-class USS Avenger (NCC-12060) during its maiden voyage in the early 2320s.

Early life

Yaxara Elbrun was born in the city of ShanaiKahr on Vulcan; her birth parents had been on the staff of Betazed's ambassador to Vulcan.

After their deaths, Elbrun was raised by a Vulcan couple, Sobak and Asil. However, they were unable to adequately train her in the use of her Betazoid telepathic gifts, which necessitated her traveling to Betazed for therapy and training during her teenage years.

Prior to Elbrun's entering Starfleet Academy, she graduated with degrees in genetics and xenobiology from the Vulcan Science Academy.

Previous Starfleet career

Elbrun had been part of the Academy Choir. (Star Trek: Avenger: "A Life Well-Lived")

From 2306 to 2307, Elbrun was a xenobiologist with the rank of lieutenant junior grade and assigned to a research outpost on Axarel V. She served aboard the USS Yonada from 2307 to 2308.

In 2308, Elbrun was assigned to the science vessel USS Christa McAuliffe, initially as chief science officer. She was promoted to executive officer in 2309, and served as acting commanding officer while the ship's captain, Krysta, was seriously wounded during a research mission.
