The Zodiac-class starship was a type of United Federation of Planets Starfleet vessel in use during the 24th century. (Star Trek Encyclopedia)
Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 1: The Ships of Starfleet[]
The Zodiac-class cruiser entered service in 2365. Its design was based on the larger Galaxy class. It had a similar shaped secondary hull and primary hull, though the latter was more perfectly circular than oval. The pylons connecting to the nacelles swept upwards and forward so that the bussard ramscoops were almost inline with the bridge. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 1: The Ships of Starfleet)

The Zodiac had a design lineage that traced back to the Baton Rouge, Belknap and Renaissance classes. Developed alongside the New Orleans-class frigate, Zodiacs entered service in 2347. Successful design and performance resulted in over a hundred ships of the class built over a 20-year span, with the last being USS Diamond.
This class was still in service during the Dominion War, when the Zodiac-class USS Yorktown was destroyed in the Battle of Cardassia (2375). (Starbase23.net)
